Hi all, I've mentioned this query to Darren (admin) so he can clarify the situation.

Found this post online.

As my title says, I'm getting complaints from people who haven't posted for years on our forum that they are getting Tapatalk emails, is there a way to stop this?

(Lots of other complaints about being unable to stop emails from tapatalk, but that was from a forum administrator).

Perhaps deeper consideration should be given to the idea.
Hi all, thanks for raising some concerns around the tapatalk service but I think that there have been a few misunderstandings (probably mostly on my part!)

This is a 5 year old thread (well 8 actually but 5 since my last reply) and at that time tapatalk was simple an app that allowed you to more easily access online forums/communities on your mobile device.

Whilst that is still one of the services offered by tapatalk, it would appear that they have also started to host their own communities- I didn't actually know this before trying to understand this thread.

It would appear that after the demise of google plus, where a lot of people had communities, they have started a service to allow you to move those communities before they were lost or to start a new one.

We run a software called vbulletin, I am not sure if you can migrate vbulletin based forums to their service but I certainly have no plans to (like I said, I only found out just now about it).

We remain independent, run on our own server and the only place you need to register is here on the forum.

Having read a few articles on tapatalk I would avoid it like the plague
