good luck in your search really hope you do find a site.
Most Haven/Bourne Leisure sites are taking vans & often paying your move, I guess others are doing the same.
Try calling some of the Haven sites in N Wales.

Hi elaine! caught you creeping onto the forum through the tradesman's entrance!
just kidding, A BIG WELCOME to the forum, I hope you have some luck, both of you, there WILL be somewhere you can both move to, in this present climate, some parks are changing their rules, so persevere
Keep us informed of your progress, it will be interesting reading for others as well

Default Thanks!!!

Thanks to everyone who replied. Sadly, we had to abandon our plans to get the caravan in the Lakes. We simply couldn't get a site to take us. I think site owners make a lot of money from caravan sales - they aren't likely let you bring your own then, are they?!

Anyway, we settled on an average van on a fantastic pitch with a view of a bay in Anglesey. When we've saved up, we'll get a new one....

It's sad that there is not sufficient legislation to protect caravan owners but caravan ownership is addictive........so here we are.

Thanks again

Let me light the blue touch paper .

If you had your own cafe , would you let people come in with a flask and lunch box sit down and start eating them. No i dont think so , same principle.

Sorry your plans did not work out. There is legislation to protect owners.

Sorry can't follow your logic, that site owners make a lot of money from caravan sales and you are going to buy a new one

If it helps, I'll tell you why we don't take caravans...

It's a case of simple maths, our park costs a certain amount to run and maintain high standards. We make some of our money from caravan sales and some from pitch fees. If we don't make sales and we want to maintain standards then our currently reasonable pitch fees would need to increase. We have a finite number of pitches so bringing a caravan onto site would lose a plot onto which we could make a sale.

It's all about economics. We are a business, but we like to keep our exsiting customers happy and this includes keeping increases in the pitch fee at sensible levels.

Cheers

Andy

Yeah I understand that, sometimes though I think I'd like to try a new site, and for most people it's not possible to take such a big "hit" on the money you've paid out, suppose some parks do part ex?
