Default Food glorious food (Eating out)

Just thought I would give a mention to a pub/ restaurant we have found whilst travelling to Scarborough each weekend. It's called the Denison Arms in East Ayton (on the Pickering to Scarborough road and within a taxi ride of Scarborough). Never seen such huge meals in my life before and the quality is spot on. We called in at 5 o'clock Saturday and it was already busy. Wifey had a lamb dinner and I had an all day breakfast with chips. Just over 15 quid for both and neither of us quite managed to eat it all. The guy on the next table was munching his way through a 32 ounce rump steak with all the trimmings (23.95 i think). He managed the steak but left his chips and salad and was making weird and wonderful groaning and wheezing noises.
Well worth a try if you're passing.

This is a brilliant idea for a thread. I was wondering if the Admins might consider having a thread like this for various area of the country? We could add and update all the time...

In fact, as I'm a great support or local shops, I was thinking perhaps we could have regional threads called "Things to do, Places to Eat and Nice Local Shops"

Sounds good to me. Regional would be very useful and the work drink has to be included at least once of course.

Last year I set up a website & forum for our caravan park & we have sections for places to visit, local tourist attractions, food & drink & it has produced some ideas for places I had never heard of so I find it useful & the users seem to like it so I think its a great idea for here.

Treetops does the same ...in fact the local big H forum copied them off Treetops FB page...and we have passed the lists on to Marianda...
There is ons place that is not on the list yet...Ivy emporium on the A548 near to Treetops and Trianglewood...great food and owners..

The Ivy is a little unusual, but I'm sure you'll like the food / drink and the owner are really friendly. They do a cracking breakfast!
