Default What do you leave in over winter

As a newbie I was just wondering what if anything do members leave in their vans over the closed season? I will be closing my BK Bluebird Grosvenor down for the first time towards the end of the month and will be vac packing bedding etc (the site will be doing the drain down) but do any members leave any household items ie cleaning stuff in their vans or is everything emptied out?

We take all food and cleaning things home with us and just use them up over closed period ... as season's end approaches, I've tried to keep stocks low! Same with toiletries.
We took television home last year, but as we need a new one, the current one will be dropped off at tip on way home.
We bring bedding home ... not much there and all clothes.
Ornaments stay, out of sight ... as of no value.

We leave everything in the van except for bedding. We did hide everything the first year(7 yrs ago) but don't bother anymore.Apart from the obvious emptying the freezer we leave food that has the long expiry date ie after 1st March. We can go back to the van when opening and carry on as though we were never away.Never ever had any problems.Don't see the point in taking telly's home.We don't put salt out as l reckon it invites moisture into the air and again we have never had a problem.

We are pretty new to this this is just our 4th season, but for the first 2 years we literally took everything home including the microwave and tv. All bedding cushions etc were put in vacuum bags and brought home, and all ornaments wrapped up in newspaper and put in boxes. Last year we left the microwave and ornaments, but this year we are thinking of putting bedding etc in vacuum bags and leaving in caravan. Might bring tv home but planning on leaving everything else.

Many thanks for giving a bit of info on what you leave. I'm taking clothing home and was intending to leave cleaning stuff in the cupboards with the doors opened. How about books? Do you find they go a bit fusty/mouldy if left over winter?

We only take home foodstuff. Put bedding in vacuum bags. Leave cupboards open so air can circulate. Books, dvd TV all been fine

Our first year too.
Have left bedding & towels in vacuum bags, covered TV with towel, & other stuff
Left cupboard doors open, all food stuff out, left cleaning stuff & few clothes.

Think I need a bigger car or van!

Put the portable dehumidifiers practically everywhere.
No salt as plenty of sea air around van outside!
BBQ in shed & sprayed garden tools with WD40!
All this work, quite unbelievable very time consuming!

Even purchased a cheap single quilt to put round the boiler to help protect from any frost!

Will be going back at some point to remove our 3 month old double mattress as trying to sell it!

I've plenty of vac bags and the dehumidifier box things and also I've bought some of the crystal type cat litter. I may overdo it this year but it'll be a learning curve as I really don't know what to expect. Just wondering now whether to leave a bottle of wine there as a welcome back gift to myself at the start of the new season lol

Thinking I may overdo things now

I guess I just like to start with a clean state each season

Leaving a bottle of wine seems a good idea mind! x
