Default Caravan Fire at Presthaven Sands, Prestatyn

I see there's been another caravan fire, this time on Presthaven Sands last night, which is near our site. I've heard that the van belongs to Haven and was caused by a bbq that was left unattended when the occupants went around the site. The van next door, which was privately owned, has been very badly damaged too apparently.

So scary when you see how fast they burn out but at least the vans were both empty.

It shows just how careful you need to be. I must say I would never leave a BBQ unattended near a van or any fire hazard.

The lesson is keep a fire extinguisher handy if you are having a BBQ.

I am on the site and heard that the van was privately owned and was being sublet. The occupants were out in the evening when the fire started. They had two small children and were extremely upset. No one was hurt thankfully. The two caravans each side were both damaged. It must be so upsetting for all concerned. The site dealt with everything calmly and efficiently and looked after all concerned. Everyone affected was given a safe bed and whatever they needed for the night.

It's good to hear everyone was safe and were looked after.
