We don't have to pay winter storage, or if we do it's in the site fees. Our site only closes for 6 weeks in winter.

I'm on North Denes in Lowestoft - Our site fees went up this year by quite a chunk, but our estimated rates went up also. We paid 295 last year and now I have a bill to pay of 428 for this years estimated charges. (this is non domestic rates, water and refuse)
Anyone elses rates similar?
As its estimated ,why don't the site wait til they get the rates ?

I was told by someone who works on a site ,that the sites charge it just in case people give up before site fees due...also they get cash flow in winter...

It would make more sense if they waited. As I have to pay this years estimate (428) and the balancing payment of last years rates (84) all at once...for 3 vans

Guess it's a cashflow thing as mentioned.

My site fees have gone up 50 as usual. Now 1900 with nothing on site. Rates usually 300 due in June. I've just sold my van yesterday so I won't be paying them this year :-)

I paid my fees plus VAT last week. I am at my son's house at the moment so I'm not absolutely sure what I paid. I think it was just over 2,500 in total our rates will become due early 2018.

I'll post an update when I get back to the van.

No winter storage for us. The season is from March 1st to February 20th. So the park is closed for eight days.

we used to pay storage charges for our tourer at the end of the season but i've never heard of static winter storage its not as if you can take it home with you its obviously just an extra fee built into your terms and conditions.

Just checked my bill for site fees.2,101.25 Vat 420.25 Total 2,521.50 1st October 2017 - 30th September 2018.

Last year we were actually charged for five months as shown on my bill, although we were at the park for almost 12 months. I paid only 1022.19 plus VAT 204.44 Total 1,226.63 which works out more per month than this year but was probably adjusted upwards for some reason. I am not complaining because the park could have charged me for the whole year whilst I was waiting for my van to be delivered. I must say the whole staff and owners have been brilliant with us.

Reading some of the comments about owners of other parks, we consider ourselves to be lucky we have picked a good park with good owners.
