Default remote controlled central heating

We already have a heating system and wondered if anyone could advise on the practicality of being able to turn on and off remotely

I don't turn our C/H on remotely but there quite a few members who do. I would think that someone will post information sooner or later.

I believe this was discussed under the topic "free Wi-Fi " a while ago ?
Is it the Hive type you're after ?
you can get A Wifi Thermostat but you need Wi Fi on site to run it

I use a Hive thermostat to do this. For it to work you need a constant internet link & router at your van that you can connect the Hive Hub to. There is then a receiver that is heard wired to your boiler & a remote thermostat that connects to both.
There are other systems ( Nest etc. ) but we went with this one and so far it seems to be working well for us.

Same with mine which I have installed at the caravan a Salus IT500,
a little cheaper than the hive without installation, works well, I have been very happy with it coming to a warm caravan when the weather is chilly https://www.amazon.co.uk/SALUS-IT500.../dp/B00FKRS514
