Default anybody else shutting down earlier than planned?

we are thinking of shutting down the van two weeks earlier than planned, i am sad to do it but that frost this morning on the cars made me think!!

we had planned to do it 15th November cos that is when the site closes but now we are going up next weekend to do it,

i will be posting to ask you what you will be leaving in your vans, i know most people say put stuff in cupboards etc but double quilt, 4 x single and all the bedding etc etc??

I'm half with you - really wanted to use it to the very end but I have options: mini drain down (which scared me to begin with) but now seems simple. So will find out exactly how to undo water pipes and if easy - carry on going, but do a mini-drain down each time I leave.......OR....shut up completely mid november! Quilts - mine are feather, seems silly to leave them at all - will prob. bring them home until next season.....tv etc? pop it in bottom of cupboard which cant be seen - cost less than the b....dy quilts!! Get plenty of cheap household salt and Kontrol Crystals !!! My winter guy also checks at periods throughout the closed season so feel quite confident.

We planned to use our van right up to the very last day(31st Oct). We are having a few days in it now but the site is almost deserted. I took the dog for a walk at about 10pm around the site and i counted about 5 occupied vans out of 120.All the rest looked like they had been closed down.It gives the place a whole diffferent atmosphere than in the summer months with children playing and the sound of laughter etc.
Because of this,we have called in the plumber to drain us down this Sunday and that will be it 'til next March.

i take it that you have already 'wrapped up' your van ready for the winter?
did you bring your quilts home? i am bringing all my bedding home to wash but i will take it back the following week and seal them in those vaccuum bags and leave them there. i dont want a houseful of caravan gear as well as all my normal stuff- got no room for it all

Default Closing down

Our site is open until early January and we have been there for new year in the past. We're lovely and warm in the van, but if it's wet and miserable out it's nicer to be at home. At the moment we're keeping our eye on the weather and are thinking about closing down in November but nothing's decided as yet.
