Definately wanted to be by the sea as long as it was within reasonable travelling distance. Our beach isn't that great, but just love being able to walk along it and OH really enjoys seafishing now - it is a good way to get rid of him for a few hours. I would never go swimming in the sea though - far too cold and we have an indoor pool lol. I suppose, as we are by the sea, it feels more like a holiday everytime we go - don't know if I would feel that way if the park was inland.
