Default Taking cat with you

We have a young daft cat Molly who we put in cattery. We were thinking of taking her with us but scared that we will loose her. Also how do you deal with a cat in car on long journeys ie: 180 miles from Runcorn to Chapel St Leonards. She is a nosey mad cat who has nearly been crushed in drawers as she hides in them..... First thing she does when let out in morning is go round the fence eating cobwebs.

Ah Pickerwood, Tia Maria is the GS mad cat woman lol - I'm sure she will be along tomorrow to give you some tips - she's taken 1 of her cats to her van before.
I'm trying this out this coming weekend for the first time! Traction (my cats name) is nearly 13 so getting on a bit now - and he cries like mad in the car - even 5 mins up the road to the vets. He has been known to have a poo in the car coming back from the cattery
Goodness knows how he will go on for 1.5hrs in the car but I'm gonna try him anyway.
I'm gonna keep him in 3 or 4 days (which will be hell) then just pray!!! I'm hoping cos we are there he will come back - if he can find his way!!!

Molley is a rare underound cat as she hides under her blanket in box as well as underneath the kitchen when we get visitors.

when you take her in her box to your van, keep her well covered, especially if she likes being covered..
we took Mr Ginge to our van last year and he was as good as gold.. he is an indoor cat....so no bother.. he doesn't go out..
the car journey was a bit noisy, but as long as he can see me, and I can stroke him through the bars, he is fine...... we get to the van and let him loose inside the van,,,
where we have all the stuff for him that we have at home.... he is absolutely fine...
NOW...... this weekend I am taking all of my 4 cats with us.... 3 of them are outdoor cats...eeekkkkk.
I have got a post about it (my cats at the van) and I intend to write a blog about it.....
so I think Molley will be ok....... xx

she will only escape if someone is careless with the door and the windows, sorry to be harsh but it's not worth the risk is it?

Traction is just a pain in the ****. The term "scaredy cat" was made specifically for him I'm sure! He jumps at his own shadow lol and if when we have visitors he just goes out. He's always been the same even though no-one has ever hurt him. We've had him since he was about 4 months old. I do love him though - he is very much my cat and is definitely a "mummys boy" I have to admit he is my surrogate baby

We will all have to compare notes of how the journey has gone if we can hijack your post Tia. Also, what issues we are coming across and how to get round them. It would be great if we can all support each other this weekend?
Glad you have already done it Tia so we can learn from you my friend xx
