Tip is to look inland , you will get more for your money than on the coast

I think you might struggle in such a popular tourist area to find many sites with site fees lower than 3000, however if you plan to let your van to cover your site fees you could probably charge more than in less popular areas which would help cover the costs. We looked at Rockley Park (not Devon I know, but a park in a popular area) and not only were the site fees a lot more than other parks, but the starting prices of the vans also reflected the size of the park and the area. When we were up in Cleethorpes on the Haven Thorpe Park site we paid 2800 for our site fees, it was a huge site with lots to do and great owners facilities, and that was for an amazing pitch two rows back from the seafront, at the end of a row with a hedge surrounding us, and a tarmac parking space as part of our pitch. However at Doniford we now pay about 1000 more for a smaller pitch in the middle of a row with no parking space. The site is a lot smaller with less amenities and less owners facilities, but I think the area is more desireable as a holiday destination.

You can search for sites here, http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/index.asp this site is mainly aimed at tourers and campers, but once you have searched and the sites are listed it shows you whether they have statics on the site or not.

Hi Cinders... Have you considered Somerset? I don't know whereabouts in the country you are?
We've just put a deposit down on a 2006 van with 11 years left. Lovely family run site, lots of green space, private beach, pub and kiddies play area. They have tree houses , willow domes and a swimming pool that you book for half hourly slots (free) max 10 people.
Site fees are just under 2,500 per year and it's open 52 weeks.
We are so excited

Home Farm holiday Centre, St Audries Bay http://www.homefarmholidaycentre.co....xmoor-somerset

You have to be quick if a second hand van comes up, they sell overnight.

Good luck

Are you looking for a Park Home? (residential)
If not we'll move the thread to the right section of the forum
