An enquiry this morning has detailed a charge for 110 for a gas safety check, which we reckon is rather steep.

We'd love to get an idea of prices currently being charged across the UK.

Thanks.
Hi,
We still charge 45.00, have kept this price for 4 years now. Though unfortunatly we may look to alter our prices depending on location from next year due to rising over head and fuel costs. I wouldnt anticipate a huge rise, up to somewhere between 45 & 50 depending on location.

That's pretty good Ian - I will remember that for the future.

Hi all,
Just as a further to note to you for annual gas safety inspections & certifications we have had to rise the costs, but not by a lot. Its now starts at 54.00 inc vat depending on your location. That's for a full safety inspection, not a boiler or fire service and if there are any parts or repairs needed they are charged accordingly, though if there's anything major we will of course let you know first and price it up for you.
We work nationwide, but for distances we would require a group of owners to inspected at once rather than just the one.
Hope you all have a great Bank Holiday weekend.
Ian

Default Gas Safety Check

On our privately owned site in Cornwall we are required for our static that is not rented out, to pay a fee of 120 for the annual gas check on boiler, fire, hob and oven (no central heating). Cannot use our own engineer unless we pay for the check and authorisation of his validity and competence! Our house boiler service engineer said he would charge 45 for the first appliance and 10 each further one.

I paid 90 in October for my boiler, cooker and hob to be serviced. The boiler has a five year warranty but must be serviced in year 3,4 and 5 to be valid. It has just been repaired again in its third year.

We don't need one yet as the system was only commissioned in April of this year. Can anyone tell me what the law says regarding the frequency of tests etc, please.

Many sites have a yearly compulsory gas check & many do not. Recently we had a new regulator & gas pipe fitted although it looked OK to me. This was a touring not a static site but gives food for thought! Gas & electricity checks...... Good idea for you AND your neighbours safety eh?
