Default Holidays without my caravan

As I sold my beloved caravan this year I've had to find somewhere else to holiday. We had a nice break in a holiday cottage in the Yorkshire dales. It was on a working farm which also had a touring caravan and tent park. We took our little terrier with us and had some great walks. I got my caravan fix by mixing with the tourer owners! I think that the earlier break we had in a hotel wasn't for us as we had been used to the freedom of being in our static. The cottage on the other hand was a good alternative as we could please ourselves when we ate and where. It also meant we could take our little dog with us - we missed him so much when we stayed in the hotels. I still miss our "old dear" but I enjoyed this holiday better than the last, so perhaps I've found a good alternative with the holiday cottage idea. Have a great summer in your caravans everyone!XX

Hi Angela. Yes, it is very strange after having our own van for 6 years! I suppose we're lucky to have a holiday and should count our blessings. Miss chatting to you all as often as I used to though. XX

We are away without our van and I had forgotten how much hard work all this packing was. Been out to buy cling film and other bits that are always there. Bringing coffee tea washing up stuff etc was a pain. Nice though a change is my van is a lot more relaxing.

Norfolk broads in a house but on the water with a motorised day boat. With OH daughter son in law and grand daughter. First time in three years we have gone any where other than the van. The kids have gone to Yarmouth for the day.
interested not nosey

I'm just back from a lovely holiday without my caravan - in Madeira. I will no longer consider the Lake District ( caravan) or the Yorkshire Dales (home) hilly. We saw some amazing views and climbed some very steep slopes. Now for the washing.
