Default Sites in Dorset, Devon, Somerset & Sussex Area

Hi All,

I have been looking into owning a caravan now for a while and have been to many sites down the south of the country.

The initial cost of buying the van is not the problem, the only thing is that we are struggling to justify paying 4000+ on site fees.

Dorset, Devon, Somerset & Sussex Area

Can anyone recommend any family run sites in the above areas? Ideally we would like a clubhouse, shop and pool.

Between 3k - 4k site fees.

Thanks

Hi, there is a nice little site called Berry Barton, Devon. Its a small farm with statics to one side, no club house etc but right by the sea and in the middle of no where. Idea for peace and quiet! Pretty sure the fees are less than half what your looking for as well, could be worth a look

Hi ziggmike, have you tried doing a Google search or looking on Google earth for sites? Just a thought until someone replies from that area

Hi Angela B,

Yes we have and I will be investigating these in the next couple of weekends.

Just wanted to know first hand what people thought, as Haven has alot of stuff to do on site but site fees make up for that

Park resorts tend to be a little bit cheaper but then again you dont get as much as Haven, swings and roundabouts I guess!

Will have to do some hard digging

Hello

I have a static at st audries park. West Quantockhead. Somerset and have been there for 5 years. The site is family owned quite guiet but has a pool, bar, and shop. Fees are currently. 2000 a year. A mixture of owners (about 80%) and rentals. A lovely relaxing place to be but plenty to do in the area. They have a website which gives more information

Its a really lovely little site, quiet and tucked away!
Im not sure on the site fees, i think the vans are chosen by the owners straight from the manufacturer as there aren't vans already sited which are for sale. (if that makes sense) Sure a quick phone call to them would clear it all up

We are moving our van to Doniford Bay in Watchet (a Haven site) and the site fees there start between 3000 and 4000, the most expensive pitches being 4700 I believe. It's a small site with lovely views it has a pool and a clubhouse and the usual Haven activities.

Not our site
No club
No pool
No shop
No noise
No kids playing = just nice ones
No disruption of peace & tranquillity

No street lights
No bins on show
No signage

Calm, peace, tranquillity

BUT GOODLUCK

Maybe look at Cofton country club Dawlish or The warren Brean
