Default Leaving spare keys at the site office.

Hi all
How many of you leave spare keys to your van with the site owners?
When we bought our van we had the choice wether to or not and for peace of mind we did.We don't sublet so there was no real reason to but we thought that sooner or later we would forget to bring ours with us and then we'd be thanking our lucky stars we had a spare set at the office.

Most sites and caravan repairs have a key anyway as most of the caravans have a e key which these only about 200 and then start again so your key may also fit two or three caravans on the site,

Sorry Darren.Could you be a little clearer. Are you saying that a caravan repair man can open any caravan door on any caravan with some kind of universal key?And could you explain what an e key is?

Come on Das - that's worse than me for thinking of something to post ..... good job its thrown up some interesting info from Darren! By the way, does double glazing include replacement doors and in which case, woudnt they have their own key - and not a universally accessible one? Just a thought.....

Almost all caravans have ellbee locks, look at your key it will have a E or m and then a number they is only about 200 of these and u can buy from ebay
Most sites and caravan repairs will have a big bunch of these i have aload from old doors ive replaced . The new doors i fit only you would have a key these no master key

Thats quite worrying really isnt it?I mean in the wrong hands a bunch of these keys would be very useful to someone wanting to gain entrance to your van quietly. Set me thinking about getting the locks changed now.
